I've been working on my first romance novel for about three months. Five, if you count the time I spent researching. Six, if you want to include the outlining phase. And at least twelve if you consider advance daydreaming to be a useful part of the creative process.
No matter how you look it, writing a book requires a heck of a lot of time, almost all of it spent alone in front of a computer--tinkering and second-guessing and slowly pulling one's hair out.
So I'm always on the lookout for ways to connect with other readers and writers, especially those who love romance. And so far, I've joined some awesome organizations and started up pages on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. I'm also excited to be attending some big industry events in the next few months.
I'm hoping this blog will help me branch out, too, and I plan to use it to post progress on my book, a historical set in London in 1819. Please comment on that or whatever else interests you--other aspects of the romance genre, say. Or the craft and business of writing more generally.
Welcome to the site! I hope we'll have a lot to talk about.
